Worried

Blake had his MRI done on his knee Friday.  Today, we went for the results of his MRI to find out what damage has been done to the ACL.  We met with Dr.Kamaleson this afternoon. There is nothing wrong with the ACL, BUT there is swelling in the bone marrow of his tibia. Dr. Kamaleson is very concerned. There is no sign of stress fracture (they did 3 more xrays) today. He is going to have another MRI tomorrow of his tibia and depending on those results, he may have to have a bone scan or bone marrow aspiration. We will meet with him again on Wednesday to find out the results. Until then, Blake cannot participate in any PE or recess. While Blake was in xray, the doctor met with me and said that it was up to me to decide what to tell him. I asked him point blank if he thought it was the "C" word. He said that he hoped not, but he couldn't say that it wasn't until we figure out exactly what it is. Needless to say, I am freaking out and Rick won't be home until tomorrow afternoon. I told Blake that his ACL is fine, but there is swelling in the bone marrow and they need to do more tests. He is fine with that information.

Right now, we are waiting on insurance to approve the 2nd MRI, but they have tentatively scheduled it for tomorrow at 9:45. I will take Blake and then we will be back at school and wait to meet with the doctor on Wednesday.  Rick will be home and will go with us to that appointment.

Please say a prayer that everything will be fine. I am trying to be strong, but have just had enough. It's amazing where your mind wanders, especially when it has something to do with your child.
