Devastated
Today we received the worst news possible. It appears that Blake has bone cancer. There is swelling in the bone marrow throughout the tibia. As of right now, the doctor's are fairly certain that it is osteosarcoma. We will meet with the pediatric oncologists at 2:00 tomorrow at Memorial Backus Children's Hospital and are hoping that they will go ahead and admit us for a bone biopsy. We do know that he will begin chemo fairly quickly and will have to have surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery will be done in Atlanta. I have cried more today than I ever have. Blake is so worried about me and even asked the doctor if he could give me some medicine to stop crying. Dr. Ben has been awesome and really got the ball rolling quickly for us. We have told Blake everything that we know and he is a trooper and knows that he will be okay. I wish we all had the innocence of a child. As soon as we meet tomorrow, I will update with more information. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Oh, Kellie- I will certainly pray for your family and that beautiful boy-for a successful surgery and a fast recovery, and for chemo that completely eliminates any trace of cancer.
