Q and U Get Married

In Kindergarten, we have finally finished learning all of the letters. The last letter that we learn is Q. We also learn that Q cannot be without U and so to celebrate the end of the letters and the letter Q, Q and U get married. Today was the big day. The girls dress as queens and the boys are quarterbacks. We have a real ceremony and reception. Bryson was so excited this morning.

Leapin Lizards

Grandmomma has been in the hospital since Thursday with a bone infection in her toe.  Uncle Brant has been in town to stay with Grandaddy, but he had to go back home yesterday.  Grandaddy and Jazzie spent the night with us last night and Grandmomma got to come back home today!  Since we had the day off today and were bored, we took Grandaddy to Leapin' Lizards to let the kids burn off some energy.  Needless to say, everyone was exhausted and Brett and Grandaddy took a nice afternoon nap.  Momma even got a little one too!!

Brett's 1st ER Visit

I have always been very proud that for 9 years we have avoided the emergency room.  I realize how lucky we are to have 2 children that never needed stitches or had an emergency.  Leave it up to the 3rd child to break the record! 

Last night, Brett was climbing on Rick's recliner (just like he does EVERY night) and somehow he fell over the side of the recliner.  I was sitting close by and saw the whole thing.  Brett hit the hardwood floor face first without even bracing himself.  He whimpered until Rick picked him up and then he went completely limp.  His eyes were closed and his head rolled from side to side.  He went limp on Rick's shoulders/  Rick grabbed him and held him up and he did not respond.  Immediately, Bryson ran to get ice out of the refrigerator and Blake let out this blood curdling scream and was yelling, "He's dead! He's dead!"

After what seemed like an eternity but was only a minute or two, Brett woke up and started crying.  He then went back to sleep.  We kept trying to rouse him but he would not wake up.  Grandmomma and Grandaddy came to the house to stay with Blake and Bryson while we went to the hospital.  On the way to the hospital, Brett came back to his normal happy self.  The ER doctor wanted to do a CT scan to make sure everything was okay.  Brett did not like being papoosed but he was the cutest Baby Burrito you have ever seen!

Fortunately, everything was fine and we were discharged from the ER.  Brett is doing great!

Happy New Year 2010!

It's hard to believe that it is already 2010!  What a year!  We are looking forward to great things happening this year.  We had some friends over for a party New Year's Eve.  One of Rick's customers from Australia bought fireworks and many people commented that they felt like they were on the front lines in Afghanistan.   It was quite the light show and the backyard looked like Beirut the next morning.  We had great food!

Well, Blake finally crashed around 1:30 after everyone left and we MADE him go to sleep. 

Unfortunately, the stomach bug hit our house and we have all been feeling kind of blah.....better get to bed....school starts back tomorrow!
