50's Day and Sock Hop at School

We had 50's Day at school this week as part of the Accelerated Reader celebration.  Students were allowed to dress out of uniform in 50's attire or wear crazy socks for the day.  We all dressed up as the 50's.  Bryson had her saddle oxfords on and Blake even had a comb in his back pocket.  We had a sock hop in the gym and each grade level got to go play games and dance to music.

Blake and all of his friends. (I was lucky to get these pictures!!- I had to threaten to go dance and then he willingly agreed!)

They even did the limbo (or tried to at least)!

Bryson and her friends had a blast dancing to the oldies!!

What movie character does Blake remind you of??

Today, as I was sorting through last year's fall and winter clothes, Blake found his long, lost fleece camo hat. He has worn it all night long!!

He reminds me of Clark's brother on Christmas Vacation.....what do you think???

Updated to add: Brant called to inform me that he is Cousin Eddie, Clark's wife's cousin.

Report Card Time!

Report cards for the 1st nine weeks of the 2009-1010 school year were sent out today! I always look forward to seeing Blake's report card and this time, Bryson got her FIRST report card!! Bryson came home and showed me her report card...it was great!! She called Grandmomma, who told her how proud she was of her and then Bryson went on her merry way to the kitchen where she proceeded to draw smiley faces and 8's and write her name on her report card. When I came in the kitchen, her report card looked like this:She was devastated when I freaked out because she had drawn all over her report card!! She was so worried about her parapro finding out...so, we will get her a new report card tomorrow and everything will be fine and....she will DEFINITELY not draw on her report cards again!!
As for Blake...he got HONOR ROLL again!! YEAH Blake!!! Except for the N in handwriting (which I am not happy about and which WILL improve next time) his grades were excellent!!
I am so proud of Blake and Bryson. They are so smart and do so well in school. Let's hope they keep it up!!!!

Disney's Christmas Carol Train Tour

Yesterday, we went to the Amtrak station to see the Disney Christmas Carol Train Tour.  On November 6, The Christmas Carol  3D movie with Jim Carrey will be in theatres.  Grandmomma heard about this train tour on one of the radio stations and if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have known about it!  Thank you Grandmomma!  The train has actual replicas and artifacts from England and from Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol.  It was a really cool exhibit and the technology is amazing!  There was artificial snow that blew every few minutes!  Here are a few pictures from our visit!!

Trouble, Trouble

This is where Rick found Brett this morning.  Rick swears that Brett gets in to more than Blake did....
I'm not sure about that yet.  It's close, but Blake never got in the dryer!  BTW, his skint nose is due to a fall down the driveway!  Boys will be boys!  Bad boys!

Blake's Birthday Party....Finally!!

After postponing Blake's birthday party last week because of Bryson being sick, Blake bacame very worried when he came down with a sinus infection and missed 2 days of school!  He was so afraid that we were going to have to reschedule the party again.  Thank goodness we didn't and Blake was able to have his party this afternoon!  He had a pool party and a moonwalk because the pool water was soooo cold!!!  Of course, the kids didn't care and swam anyway!  Everyone seemed to have a good time!

Blake came flying out of the moonwalk and landed on the ground like this:

Emma gave Blake a flag football game that was an immediate hit!

And Brett thoroughly enjoyed himself too!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE!
