Express Clydesdales

Remember, I am trying to catch up....so this post was from Friday, March 14.  St. Patrick's Day is HUGE in Savannah and one of the highlights of the parade is always the Clydesdale horses.  Usually the Budweiser Clydesdales are in the parade, but this year they aren't.  The Express Clydesdales are from Oklahoma.  They are going to be in the parade and were doing a benefit showing at Memorial Hospital for the Children's Miracle Network.  Rick was fortunate enough to get 2 VIP tickets to see them.  We surprised Bryson and Brett (Blake was getting ready for a soccer game).  If you know Bryson, you know that she is obsessed with horses.  She was ecstatic!  The Clydesdales are spectacular and soooo beautiful!  They are huge!

As part of the VIP pass, Bryson got to ride coach side!  She is still grinning from ear to ear about it!

Brett, Grandmomma and I also enjoyed the ride!  Rick was the camera man.

Look at how big he is!

One Year

The last blog was on June 30,2011 one year after Dad was put in Spanish Oaks.  I have really missed blogging and had all intentions of continuing, but for whatever the reasons were, I just never could do it.  I decided today, which is the one year anniversary of Dad's death, to start back.  How ironic that my last post was titled One Year too.  We have now officially been through all of the "firsts" without Dad here.  None of them were easy but we made it through.  We miss him so much.  This past week has been especially hard because we relived all of the events of last year at this time.  We decided to do something different and meet Brant in Hilton Head.  We spent the day on Sea Pines eating and shopping and just spending time together.  Dad's name was mentioned a lot!  It was nice.
I am hoping that I can catch up some on the last 3 years and hit some of the highlights on this blog.
Until then.....here are some highlights of yesterday!
