Thankful

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year at both of the Grandparent's houses.  The food was delicious and the weather could not have been more perfect.  We went to Grandmomma and Grandaddy's for lunch with Uncle Brant and then played outside for a while before heading home for a quick nap.

I love this picture of the boys!

After our nap, went went to Grandmomma and Papa's for dinner with Laura, Sean, Carey and Kim.  I am so upset with myself for not taking a picture of all of us at the table, but I still got some pictures next to the fire outside.

Soccer Tournament 2009

Soccer season is officially over this year. Blake was chosen to be on the All Star Tournament team.  The last tournament was this weekend.  We played 3 games- won 1 and lost 2.  The 2nd team that we played was extremely aggressive (as you can tell from the pictures below).  Rick took these pictures and got some great action shots!!  Blake had quite the support this game- Grandmomma Jeanne and Papa, Uncle Carey, Kim, Regan and Kyndal, Grandmomma and Grandaddy and Uncle David!!  Brett had a great time too!!

Storybook Character Parade and Jazz Festival

Today was the Storybook Character Parade at our school.  Bryson dressed up as Cinderella.  Grandmomma and Grandaddy came to watch the parade.

Blake was the Mummy from his book report, The Halloween Party from the Black Lagoon.  When he left my classroom, he was covered in toilet tissue and paper towels from head to toe.  This is what he looked like at 9:30- parade time.

After the parade, the high school Jazz team had a concert and we had a picnic in the park!!

You better watch out.....

Santa's already in town and is watching!!!

Last year, we went to Atlanta in December to take Dad to Emory.  While we were there, we were able to see Santa at Phipps.  It was an awesome experience.  Santa was so nice and had the best hair and beard.  We got a videotape of our visit and have enjoyed watching it especially since it was Brett's first Christmas.  This year, I got an email that appointments opened on Oct. 7 for the holiday season.  Dad had another appointment at Emory on Nov.10.  All appointments were booked.  I sent an email and basically "stalked" Steve, one of Santa's helpers.  Fortunately, an appointment came open at 11:30 yesterday morning.  So, off we went in all of our Christmas best!!  As soon as we got to the center of the mall, the kids stood on the stairs and stared in awe of Santa Claus!

On the way to Atlanta, Blake and Bryson worked hard on their Christmas list and helped Brett with his.  For some reason, the list was not complete until all 10 blanks were filled in!!

Blake and his list!

Bryson and what we thought was her list...she accidentally held up Brett's list!

While we patiently waited, we tried to take some family pictures.  Brett was not as cooperative as we would have liked!  He was very sleepy!!

As the time to see Santa drew near, we got more and more excited!

Finally, we got to see him.  I asked the lady that was working there to take up Brett because I didn't think he would leave me.  He was not so sure about the whole Santa thing, but he did sit still long enough for some pictures!  As soon as the pictures were over, I held him while Santa talked to all of them.

Santa told everyone to make sure to say your prayers, thank God for everything, brush your teeth every day, and make good grades.  He also told Blake and Bryson that they needed to be a good role model for their little brother!  I hope everyone listened to Santa and I hope all of our names are on the Good List!!!
