My Little Country Bumpkin!

Fall is finally in the air!  We'll see how long it lasts, but for now, we will definitely take it!  Brett wore his fall pumpkin outfit today and looked so cute.  Mom found some of the hats that she used for various school activities and gave them to us.  Brett is having the best time playing with them.  He already has a sense of style.  Look what he put on with his outfit today!  What a cute country bumpkin!!!

Happy 9th Birthday Blake!

Yesterday, our oldest child turned nine.  How is this possible??  Blake can't be 9 already and we can't be old enough to have a 9 year old!!
Blake was supposed to have a class pool party yesterday after school, but Bryson got sick with the flu and we have rescheduled his party for next weekend.  Blake was such a good sport and I am so proud of the way he handled the change!  We did get to celebrate with Grandmomma, Grandaddy and Uncle Carey last night.  We had a very quick hamburger dinner before Blake left to go to the football game.

Grandmomma and Grandaddy gave Blake a reflex boxing bag......

And boxing gloves to go with it.  This could be dangerous!!

Especially for Grandaddy!

and Daddy!!!

Bryson bought Blake a Phiten necklace which seems to be the "new" thing.  It is amazing!!!  As soon as Blake put it on, he had so much more energy!!  Brett gave him a bracelet to go with it!

Grandmomma and Papa gave Blake a check which he was VERY excited about!  I wonder what he will spend his money on!!

Uncle Carey came to eat with us.   Blake was happy and so was Brett since Carey decided to share his cake with him.  I am not exactly sure how much cake Carey actually got to eat since he was wearing a good bit, but Brett enjoyed it!

Blake,
Your Dad and I are so proud of you and the young man that you are becoming.  In the last year, you have matured so much.  You are still funny, very creative and smart.  I am proud of how you stand up for what you believe in and you seem to have a soft spot for those that are not as fortunate as you are.  You love to be outdoors and you are always creating something.  You are playing soccer right now and are scoring goals at every game!!  My proudest moment of the past year was when you accepted Jesus into your heart at Bible School and were baptized on Father's Day.  You could not have made us more proud!  Brett thinks that you are wonderful and he really looks up to his big brother.  I hope that you will conitnue to be as good to him in the years to come as you are right now.  I also hope that you and Bryson will not fight as much!!  Always remember how much we love you and how proud we are of you!  Happy Birthday Buddy!  We love you soooooo much!
                                                                                   Love,
                                                                                       Mom and Dad
*You'll have a great party next weekend!!

Tonight was the first night for soccer.  It was Soccerama night at Sandhill!  Each team plays 2 short 30 minute games.  We won both games and Blake scored 3 goals!  Yeah Blake!!  It was quite the workout and Blake was soaken wet by the end of the night.
Patiently waiting for the ball......

Go Noah!

Watch out David Beckham!!

Off the top of the head!

Battling it out!

Blake's biggest fans (besides Daddy- who was coaching, and Momma- who was taking the pictures!!)

Brett's Eventful Day

Brett went to church with us this morning.  Rick thought that Brett could come to church instead of nursery becauae he seemed tired.  Well, he was wrong!!  Brett babbled loudly through the beginning of the service and when the baptism started, he yelled "WATER" loudly!  Needless to say, Brett made a quick detour to the nursery for the rest of the service!  Brett has enjoyed his day eating yogurt and trying on hats!!

She's back up and singing....

My 92  year old grandmother, Magga, or MaMa to my children, has been very sick for the past two weeks.  Her blood pressure has been very high and she has a urinary track infection.  Normally, she strolls up and down the halls of the nursing home in her wheelchair with her baby dolls singing.  She loves when we visit her.  For the last week, she has been completely bedridden on IV fluids and not eating much at all.  She looked awful.  Honestly, we were thinking that we would be planning a funeral sometime in the very near future for her.  Mom and I have been trying to visit her daily this week.  Brant came in this weekend to visit and spend time with Magga.  We all met at the nursing home this morning.  What a surprise when we got there!!!  She was back in her wheelchair, lipstick and necklace on and baby doll in lap!  She looked great and seems to have rounded the corner!

The Tooth Fairy Is Making Her 1st Trip to Bryson's Room

Bryson had a wiggly tooth earlier this summer, but we have not checked it lately and she has not complained a bit. Well, today it got real loose real quick! Bryson thinks that she is the only one who has ever had a loose tooth. She tried to get Mrs. King and Barb to pull it, but it wasn't quite ready yet. We took Brett to Dr. Ben for his checkup and she told everyone she came in contact with about her loose tooth. While we waited for the lab to get Brett's finger pricked, I was talking to a nurse and Bryson shouted, "My tooth came out!" Believe it or not, she let Blake pull her tooth! Usually she can't stand for Blake to touch her and he would rather die than touch her! Somehow, they worked together and the tooth is now under the bed waiting on the Tooth Fairy! I wonder what she will bring???

Brett's 1 year checkup

Brett went to the doctor today. He weighs 23 lbs and has grown 21/2 inches in 3 months. No wonder his 12 month summer clothes don't fit him anymore!! He is in the 50th percentile for weight and head and the 80th percentile for height. He is going to be a big boy!! Unfortunately for him, he got 5 (YES, 5) shots today and his finger pricked. He was not a happy camper but he is still much braver than his older brother!! Brett is doing great and has met all of the one year old milestones. He goes to the audiologist on Thursday for a hearing test and we feel certain that all will go well! Until then, Brett continues to walk all over the place and continues to find all kinds of things to get into!
