Bryson gave a boy her phone number and Blake embarassed his Momma!

When Bryson got off the bus today, she ran into my room and said she needed to talk to me. She whispered in my ear that a boy was going to call her tonight. She gave Joseph her phone number and invited him to come to the house to swim in the pool. She is still waiting on his phone call.....

Meanwhile, Saturday night we gave Ansley Kessler a wedding shower. At the end of the night, Carey and Kim (a friend that he went out with) came over. Carey introduced her to Blake and Blake said, "Hey." THEN he said, "Hey, you have the same name as the girl Uncle Carey divorced!" Yes, he did. I could have died a thousand deaths. Carey assured me that was what I heard and I chased after Blake and squirted him with the water bottle. Honestly, he did not know that what he was saying was rude. He understands now! Thank goodness Kim has children and is a teacher! She was a good sport!

It's Pool Season!!

Today after church, we decided to chill out and relax by the pool! It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect! Brett went for his first swim and loved it!

After floating for a while, we had fun on the steps!

Rick put up a small hammock and the kids had fin swinging and relaxing in the hammock.

Dozer got relaxed in the yard.

When Good Dads and Uncles Go Bad

One day Brett will get Daddy and Uncle Carey back for this. It was Uncle Carey's idea and it took Daddy a while to figure it out. Uncle Carey laughed the whole time......Poor Brett!!

Good Hearing Results!!

We went to speech therapy today and they put Brett in the sound booth. We haven't been in there since he got his hearing aids in February so we weren't sure how he would do. He passed with flying colors!! In fact, Dr. Zuck (the audiologist) and Mrs. Laurie (the speech therapist) wished they had filmed it because his reaction and response was so good! He responded to everything and they said that he was hearing perfectly normal with his aids on!

The best news of all is that as long as he shows these responses as good as he did today, he will not have to have the sedated ABR test because they got enough information!! I hate to put him to sleep if we don't need to.

I am always so nervous going to these therapy sessions. Even though I know in my heart that Brett is just fine, it always hurts for them to tell me that he needs to be doing some things that he isn't yet. I know that they see the whole picture and don't want him to be delayed. We sure don't want that either, but I also want to keep him a baby as long as possible since he is "The End!"

By the way, Brett makes fast friends with all of the old men at stores and restaurants...they are all drawn to him because of his hearing aids...and because they all have them too!!!

Happy Easter!

Another busy day for us! When we woke up this morning, the Easter baskets were missing! When we went to bed, they were in front of the fireplace ready for the Easter Bunny. Bryson woke up first this morning and was very upset that her basket was gone. She woke up Blake, who was also confused! After a few minutes of searching, they found the Easter baskets on the sunroom! What was the Easter Bunny thinking?? We are still wondering!

Bryson got the movie Marley and Me, Blake got Bolt, and Brett got Baby Einstein and a bubble machine!

Once again, Brett liked the Easter grass!

We went to church this morning for a wonderful service and the Lord's Supper. Before church, we managed to get some pictures. For some reason, the pictures of us in front of the house have a glare. I think it is the sun's reflection in the window, but I still like the pictures!

After church, Mrs. Deemer, our nieghbor came over and was able to take some pictures of all of us! Thank you, Mrs. Deemer!!

Brett's 1st Easter!

I am not sure what we were thinking, but for some reason, we thought it would be a good day to go out on the boat! Brett looked so cute, but wasn't quite sure what to think of the boat ride...it was VERY cold and VERY choppy! We didn't stay out too long.....

We did anchor for a while and tried to fish...like I said, tried....

Until....Momma caught something....

A Stingray.......that got hooked pretty bad. It was hard to get him loose. Rick told Carey to cut his mouth so that we could let him go and Carey had the knife and was getting ready to...until...

Bryson figured out what was going on and said,"Nooooooooooooooo, Uncle Carey, please don't hurt him!!" And... Uncle Carey, like the good uncle he is, didn't have the heart to hurt the stingray (besides the fact that Bryson was watching his every move) and found some pliers and gently pried the hook loose from the stingray and set him free without hurting him!!! After that, we decided that it was time to head back home, so Uncle Carey held Brett (who fell asleep all the way there) and we went home!
